“This play featured several articulated screens, projection of film, slides, dancers and puppets, coloured light sources and costumed performers. Flakey Rosehip appeared as a pygmy with rubber feet attached to his knees and sang a song in their honour. Another reference to inter-cultural communication was the libretto, written in the new language of what we termed Pygmy Adlib. One rainy summer at Storm Bay, we started collecting ‘international’ words like presto, smorgasbord, sayonara, gotterdamerung and so on. From this we fashioned conversations of the type you hear on the radio during the Saturday opera broadcasts, complete with a phone-in quiz.” - Hank Bull
