Stemming from a Western Front residency with Marilyn Lerner and sound artist Ken Gregory involving the disclavier piano, this concert explores the many innovations which have extended the piano’s vocabulary. Music featured will span a century of approaches from jazz and classical genres and beyond, including Henry Cowell’s early compositions with tone clusters, a composition by Robert Pritchard, and a recent theatrical and sexually charged work for èspoke piano’ by Rodney Sharman.
