Two of Canada’s best known composer/performers have joined forces to present a unique repertoire that explores the possibilities of musical creation at the intersection of the acoustic and the electronic.
Peter Hannan and Henry Kucharzyk bring together their many years of experience as creators and performers of new music to a program of solos and duets created especially for a hybrid intersection of acoustic instruments (recorder and piano) with MIDI wind and keyboard controllers.
Since first performing together in 1982, Hannan and Kucharzyk have independently made major contributions to new music in Canada. An ongoing element of their work has been in the rapidly evolving field of sampling, signal processing and live performance techniques of MIDI instruments. Their repertoire features their own work alongside new creations by some of Canada’s most innovative electro-acoustic composers.
