The following text is taken from Front Magazine, vol. VII, no. 4, p. 9, March/April 1996:
Ken Gregory, an audio artist from Winnipeg, will be coming to the Western Front to participate in the Electronic Arts Festival. He has worked in several media: from mixing film soundtracks and punk rock bands, to creating interactive environments, performances and sculptural objects. His work, which has recently been seen at ISEA and in a solo show at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, is widely enjoyed yet seldom conventional.
Ken’s participation in the Festival will include assisting Techla Schiphorst’s gallery installation, as well as presenting and performing his own work. For his residency he will be working on one of several current projects. He proposes to develop an interactive radio transmitter similar to the one show at WAG, but which uses a touch telephone decoder instead of motion detectors for user control. He will be working in an electronic art laboratory with Matt Rogalsky using computers, audio, video and transmission. This will occur during the two weeks prior to the Festival where the results will be shown.
