In residence September to October will be Colombian artist Fernando Arias, whose work is a fusion of computer graphics, traditional painting, video and installations. Although he draws upon the imaginative mind of South American folklore, his work is very modern – AIDS is a major theme.
Fernando was born in Colombia, South America in 1963 and studied advertising and design at Bagota University before moving to Britain in the late 1980s. There he studied art and design at City of London Polytechnic, specializing in computer graphics. Fernando is here on the invitation of the Contemporary Art Gallery, where he will be exhibiting September to October.
