The following text is taken from Front Magazine, vol. VI, no. 4, p. 6, March/April 1995:
Works slated for the Fifth Annual Auction and Dinner will be on display March 1-4, for those who would like to view the works or wish to place an advance bid. One is able to appreciate interesting and often unusual work, and the juxtaposition, free of a curatorial theme, is like an impromptu group show.
This year’s Western Front auction features works by Magdelena Campos, Vic Cicansky, Allyson Clay, Daniel Dion, Patrick Hughes, Laura Wee Lay Laq, my name is scot, Al Neil, Lawrence Paul, Philippe Raphanel, Chick Rice, Michael Snow, Vivan Sundaram, Gu Xiong, amongst others.
The evening includes music, a performance by Lori Weidenhammer – who will also act as Mistress of Ceremonies – and a menu of delicacies and excellent wine.
