All Hallow’s Eve with Ensemble Symposium (Finn Manniche, cello; Devon Jung, keyboard; Colin MacDonald, saxophones; and Martin Fisk, percussions).
Enjoy the cutting edge of classical music from Vancouver’s emerging artists, and celebrate All Hallow’s Eve in the resonant acoustics of the Vancouver Art Gallery with Vancouver’s post-modern chamber quartet Ensemble Symposium. Featured works will include Jocelyn Morlock’s percussion and sax duo Lemonstones, Jordan Nobles’ ensemble work Synchronicities #1, and Zane Wilcox’s cello and piano duo Umbra. The program also includes two pieces by ensemble member Colin MacDonald, Pak Alit for solo saxophone, and Flow Like Water for the full ensemble. A recent composition by established Vancouver composer Rodney Sharman, Romance (Hommage a Tchaikovski) for cello and piano duo, will complete the evening.
