Content Description

‘What to say about a work which grew from so many chance occurencs and coincidences at every stage. Looking back, now in England, it feels as if Soap and Water had its own life from the moment we set of in Connie’s Volvo headed north for Robert’s Creek and some open landscape. Which is not to admit that there weren’t moments of complete self-doubt, but now I can see that it was there all the time and the clarity came through the fear and confusion, it was meant to be how it is. Hank’s piano, Connie’s feet, the breaker’s yard, the water lillies, the weather, the TV interference … all found its place and a clear message, making this tape, for me, one of the sharpest and most successful that I’ve made.’ (WFVC)
