We celebrate the Winter issue with When you have a nail, everything looks like a hammer: the Artists’ Tools Show and Tell, a launch party in three acts.
Act I – Front friends and contributors Diyan Achjadi, Francisco-Fernando Granados and Natalie Purschwitz will each offer an educational presentation centered around an important tool in their art-making practice, such as a toy printing press, a cigarette lighter and everyday products that cleanse and beautify.
Act II – First-time screening of RECITAL: Contemplative and Spontaneous Destructive Piano Performances, curated by Vancouver-based Amy Lynn Kazymerchyk and Frederick Brummer.
Act III – Live performance on a destroyed soundboard by Frederick Brummer and Keenan O’Connor.
And there’s more: In the spirit of employing the new issue as a multi-purpose tool, we invite you to come and sit on copies of Front Magazine before anyone get their hands on them. For one night only, pristine copies of Front will become benches for your comfort. How totally conceptual!
Entry is $5, and includes a free copy of the free magazine!
