Front Magazine is a quarterly journal of cultural work, with a mandate to publish new things by emerging and established local and international artists and cultural workers. Each issue is themed and has a shelf life of three months. The circulation of 8,500 is distributed free across BC’s Lower Mainland, as well as to newstands across Canada. Readers include a diverse mix of artists, writers, designers and academics, as well as many other people curious about cultural work in Vancouver.

Front Magazine has a New Art Director & New TwitterFront Magazine is pleased to welcome Art Director and Co-Editor, Karianne Blank. Karianne is a Vancouver-based designer invested in theoretical discourse, particularly in relation to art, urban space, and the future. Since graduating from Emily Carr University’s Communication Design program in 2008, she has worked for a variety of Vancouver arts organizations, including Access Gallery, Gallery Gachet, and Centre A. Karianne brings to Front her experience with online communications, her obsession with typography, and her love for the magazine format.
