Artist-in-residence. Special production. Premiered as installation at the Convertible Showroom in January, 1984. Over thirty women were interviewed at the Western Front, seated in one of three sets: a kitchen, living room or performance space, they provided their personal definition of the works ‘hero/heroine’ and told one or more personal tales of courage, endurance, or survival. These stories have been edited into one tape that examines the contrasting concepts and experiences of several women, and into a three hour, six-tape installation piece.
