Glenn Lewis is a west coast artist who has been producing innovative artworks since the 60s in various media and forms: ceramics, sculpture, colour photocopy and silkscreen prints, performance, collage and photographs. He has been associated with Intermedia, the New Era Social Club, the Western Front, has taught at the U.B.C. Fine Arts Department and was the head of Media Arts at the Canada Council from 1987-1990.
For more than fifteen years he has used the garden as a source for artistic consideration, producing photographic and text works, silkscreen prints and on-site installations that are derived from theoretical investigation of the mythology of paradise. During this residency, Lewis will experiment with text and photographs on the computer graphics system, working towards producing composite images that can be used as “signage” works in a park or other possible environments.
